Embark on a high-altitude Himalayan road expedition through the dramatic landscapes of Spiti Valley and Kinnaur.
This itinerary is for travellers seeking remote villages, ancient monasteries, and rugged mountain passes.
Trip Itinerary:
Day 1: Chandigarh – Shimla (120 km / 4 hrs)
Arrival and overnight stay in Shimla.
Day 2: Shimla – Sangla (230 km / 8 hrs)
Drive via Sarahan and visit Bhimakali Temple. Overnight in Sangla.
Day 3: Sangla – Chitkul – Kalpa (90 km / 4 hrs)
Morning excursion to Chitkul, India’s last village near the Tibet border.
Continue to Kalpa. Evening views of Kinnaur Kailash peaks.
Day 4: Kalpa – Nako – Tabo (180 km / 7 hrs)
Scenic drive through high-altitude deserts. Visit Nako Lake and Tabo Monastery.
Day 5: Tabo – Dhankar – Kaza (120 km / 5 hrs)
Visit Dhankar Monastery and drive to Kaza, the capital of Spiti.
Day 6: Kaza Local Exploration
Full-day trip to Key Monastery, Kibber Village, and Langza (fossil village).
Day 7: Kaza – Chandratal Lake (100 km / 6 hrs)
Drive through Kunzum Pass (15,000 ft) to reach the turquoise Chandratal Lake.
Overnight in luxury tented camp.
Day 8: Chandratal – Manali (130 km / 6 hrs)
Drive via Rohtang Pass to Manali. Evening leisure.
Day 9: Manali – Chandigarh/Delhi (310 km / 7 hrs)
Transfer to Chandigarh or Delhi for onward journey.
